INSANITY LAUGHS

Widely considered The Harmonics’ breakthrough release, Insanity Laughs (1999) defined the modern Harmonics sound with its dark, industrial edge and unprecedented use of studio production. Nominated for a CARA for Best Mixed Collegiate Album, the record layers "wall-of-sound" vocal percussion with electronic distortion, creating a dense, high-energy listening experience that set a new standard both for the group, and collegiate a cappella as a whole.

Insanity Laughs is also notable for netting Harmonics alumnus and now-veteran arranger Jon Pilat a nomination from the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards for “Best Mixed Collegiate Arranger”.
