Spring Show, being the quintessentially Harmonic event that it is, probably deserves its own paragraph here. As in years past, the 2004 Harmonics put up a show-stopping performance in Kresge Auditorium, full of innuendos, making-out, crazy costumes, and most importantly, screamingly rocking music and side-splittingly good humor. Christened Camp Anna Wanna, the Harmonics' version of summer camp fun was received by a raucous audience that lapped up every second of it. Featuring 15 songs from the Harmonics' 2003-04 repertoire, Camp Anna Wanna also saw the welcome breakthrough of Caleb as yet another one of the Harmonics' top-class vocal percussionists! In between the bevy of customary dorm shows and high school performances, 2003-04 also saw a flurry of performances for the greater good, with the Harmonics making appearances at the Kids With Dreams Spring Fair, the Cure Cancer Café Benefit and the Foster City Service League Breakfast, among others. As the year wound down, recording for the Harmonics' upcoming album Shadowplay began, and this was the first time for the Harmonics recording using their own equipment! In the sweltering spring heat of Ben's dorm room in Serra, recording for "Easier To Run", "Labryinth" and "Faster, Faster" began, and with debutant studio engineers D’Angelo, Holbert and Salomaki manning the wheels, these three fledgling tracks began to find their places in Harmonics history. Clearly, leaving a year so full of adventure behind will be tough, but the 2003-04 Harmonics emerged stronger than ever before, looking forward to another landmark year, and another landmark album! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
