ESCAPE VELOCITY
Departing from the brooding, industrial weight of Shadowplay, Escape Velocity (2008) launches The Harmonics into a more expansive and cinematic soundscape. This ambitious evolution was met with massive critical acclaim, earning the CARA for Best Mixed Collegiate Album (2009) and being named a RARB “Pick of the Decade”. “The Sound of Silence” by Charli Forkish won the CARA for Best Mixed Collegiate Arrangement (2009), with the runner-up “Imagination” also by Forkish. While retaining the group’s rock roots, Escape Velocity also continues a trajectory towards the intricate and experimental. This album stands as a towering achievement in the group's history, guiding our heavy "studio rock" past towards a polished, award-winning future.
